An ongoing problem local courier operator Grants Express faced is how to maximise their cargo space when no delivery item was ever the same. Packages came big, small, fragile and awkward not to mention some of the pallet loads, many of which cannot be stacked. Almighty’s solution hit the nail flush on the head….
Tray space is always at a premium inside a tautliner – very rarely does a pallet space go empty on a loaded courier truck however when pallets and packages requiring freight cannot be stacked, it often leaves swathes of cargo space empty up high. Working with GE, Almighty developed a customised shelving system which sits neatly across the rear axle and takes up around 50% of the length of the tray.

The shelf is designed to load/unload by forklift at the GE depot saving time and improving safety. With a rated capacity of 2T, it can take a load and a half on its’ own while allowing pallet loads underneath. When a load of stackable pallets requires freighting, they simply remove the shelf and store in the depot until next required.
With greater capacity, less time spent loading/unloading and more time on the road, this new Grants Express Tautliner is destined to improve productivity many times over.
